SAP BusinessObjects announces the planned end of life of SAP BusinessObjects™ Desktop Intelligence. SAP BusinessObjects Desktop Intelligence XI 3.1 will be the last commercially
available version and will not be enhanced or delivered with future versions of SAP BusinessObjects.

SAP BusinessObjects Desktop Intelligence was a Windows-based tool for complete self service information access, formatting, and analysis. It has been licensed on both a named user and CPU based models as part of the overall SAP BusinessObjects license model.

SAP BusinessObjects announces that SAP BusinessObjects Desktop Intelligence XI 3.1 will be the last commercially available version. This means that the product and documentation will no longer be delivered in any future version of SAP BusinessObjects.

Technical Support Availability
SAP BusinessObjects Desktop Intelligence technical support availability is based on the support lifecycle for the version of SAP BusinessObjects Desktop Intelligence you are currently using.

SAP BusinessObjects Desktop Intelligence XI 3.1 will continue to be supported according to the SAP Release Strategy, with Mainstream Maintenance ending in December 2015 and priority-One Support ending 2017.

Why the decision was made

In recent years market interest in SAP BusinessObjects Desktop Intelligence has declined. SAP BusinessObjects has therefore decided to make a formal End of Life announcement for this product.

SAP BusinessObjects Desktop Intelligence is a mature product, so current customers should feel confident about continuing to use it through the remaining support cycle, while evaluating alternative plans.

Product Upgrade Options
SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence will be the replacement for SAP BusinessObjects Desktop Intelligence. Most SAP BusinessObjects Desktop Intelligence functionality will be
directly available in SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence.

LICENSING AND CUSTOMER ACTION

Customers of SAP BusinessObjects should contact their account manager to discuss license transition options to SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence.
