The WebFOCUS product provides an excellent graphical user interface (GUI) for the rapid development of geographically aware applications and requires little or no training / coding by developers.
With today's global enterprises being geographically dispersed and influenced, these "borderless businesses" have complex internal and external relationships, these in many cases being difficult to interpret. This new product, by overlaying maps with operational data and reports, offers users clearer view of performance and allows the quick identification of local and regional trends, such as volume of calls made to a specific call center or number of stores with low stock level on certain items.
Basically, by combining the power of WebFOCUS with Google Maps, maps can be enriched with analytical content. WebFOCUS drives what is displayed on a map, uses location indicators to visually convey trends, and allows navigation from the map to a related report.
