Weipo Liao, Systalex’s President and CEO reported that his team's success in integrating these two technologies highlighted the creative solutions that they provide. At the show, Trevor Quinn, Principal Architect with Systalex, will demonstrate how a U.S. EPA enterprise web application was “geo-enabled” using Microsoft Virtual Earth and Oracle Application Express. Mr. Quinn will also describe how the back-end Oracle 10g database was transformed into a spatial data engine for Virtual Earth.
Don Kunkoski, the EPA Project Manager directing Systalex’s contract with EPA, said, “Systalex has been able to embed GIS functionality within our management application at a minimal cost, with little or no impact on the system architecture. The new mapping tools streamline data entry work flows and provide a new layer of geo-enabled business intelligence that improves our management decision making process.”
The Oracle Spatial User Conference is an annual opportunity for business intelligence users, solutions providers, and systems integrators to gather and learn about the latest Oracle geo spatial database and application server technologies. The conference coincides with the Geospatial Information and Technology Association's (GITA's) Geospatial Infrastructure Solutions Conference 31 and the Geospatial Dimensions of Emergency Response Conference March 9-12, 2008.
