MobilTel selects Teradata business intelligence system .



The Bulgarian wireless operator Mobiltel has selected the US-based Teradata Corporation as the implementor of an intelligence system for business, the focus being on marketing analytics, this being a bid to improve management of customer relations.

The new Teradata system will result in faster and more accurate intelligence for decision making, the company said.

"We have five million customers and we made a decision to make a major change in the data warehouse and selected Teradata as the vendor for our data warehousing requirements," Victor Vidolov, director of quality and security of technologies at MobilTel was quoted in the statement as saying. "We made this important decision because of the positive group synergies we experienced with the Teradata team, clear cost advantages and the positive performance of Teradata and its power of scalability."

MobilTel will be the first mobile operator in Bulgaria to introduce the Teradata system, accoring to Hermann Wimmer, Teradata president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
